Body Health Affects Mind Health – Foods for Thought

Ready to Regain Your Health and Pursue Wellness?

For the many years that I considered healthy eating as only about dietary strictness and abnormally thin bodies, I didn’t know the kind of fun I was missing. In fact, it is not just about fun. Healthy foods affect your body and bring improved appearance, good mood and overall health.

For me, it has been a learning experience with difficulties. From confusion caused by so many food alternatives to unwillingness to cut on your sweet foods, be ready to endure a bit of suffering that is craving as you start your journey to a healthy body.

How does eating healthy enhance your health?

Research has shown that processed and packaged food is associated with high rates of bipolar disorder, stress, anxiety and depression. Such food may even cause diseases that are more serious including schizophrenia, ADHD and Alzheimer’s disease.

Crazy, right!?

What are we doing to our bodies?

Take Charge of Your Meals

Once you realize how wonderfully healthy foods affect your body… and decide to try it… you will need to create a diet plan. When I was creating mine 5 years ago, I knew I had to feel good and look great. On advice from my favorite workmate, I decided to start preparing more of my own meals. This way, it is easier for me to monitor what I eat.

Importance of Dealing with Negative Energies

Have you ever struggled with a certain problem in your life and the solutions didn’t come, no matter how much you tried? In most cases, it’s because the negative influences are still intact. Sometimes, the influences are so strong that you must lay down a strategy.

In my fight against unhealthy eating, I knew very well that cutting out soda pop completely wouldn’t be easy. However, I decided to cut it down slowly and it worked.

Drink Plenty of Water

Water is at the center of any health and diet plan. Just like grass withers when it lacks water, our cells can wilt if we don’t drink water.

Sometimes we are out for fieldwork for long hours and we may not have time for a sip of water. The dehydration always shows in the form of tiredness and low energy. That’s how crucial water is to the system. Since you may easily confuse thirst with hunger, going without enough water can lead to unhealthy food choices. The solution is simple: drink lots of water throughout the day.

Vegetables and Fruits

The importance of vegetables and fruits in the diet also cannot be overlooked. While these foods are rich in fiber, minerals and vitamins, they have very low calorie content. If you aim to eat at least five servings of veggies daily, you will see just how easy it is to cut on unhealthy alternatives.

I’ll be honest, eating fruits more often has reduced my craving for sugarcoated foods.

A tip on this: Remember that the more the color combination in the diet, the healthier your meal is. As a rule of thumb.

Reduce Your Salt and Sugar Intake

Having energy spikes was a common problem for me until I discovered its cause: a lot of sugar. We live in a world where sugar is everywhere. Your body gets enough sugar from natural foods so there is really no need for all those desserts and candy.

Additionally, too much salt may cause memory loss and increase the risk of diseases such as diabetes and heart disease.

I am a testimony that healthy foods affect your body. By focusing on a healthy lifestyle and having simple daily accomplishments as I have suggested here, you will enjoy the path to overall health.

And of course, when you’re eating better and your body is healthier, your mind becomes more healthy, too. And your actions take on a new efficiency and a new charge.  Eating healthy is vital to success, in my perspective.
